Another sunny day dawned. After Robs finished lectures we headed back to Vergenoegd for our wine blending.
It was a great experience as Greg, our lecturer, took us through the process and history of wines in SA. We had our favourite blends bottled and gave them personalized names: Gray and I called ours ‘Ducks and Pandas’, Ga – ‘Duck off’ and Robs – ‘I make Pour decisions’.
Next we went to Spier Estate and had lunch in their beautiful gardens. Robs and I then headed off to the spa for manicures, while the boys went brandy tasting at van Ryn’s Distillery.
We then went back to the the hotel to meet up with Kirst, (this next bit was highjacked by Kirsty, hehe: our absolute favourite child, so excited!!!!!! She is just so beautiful and clever and talented and amazing. We really missed her the most, she is so special and incredible). She was missing us and suffering from fomo so she flew in for the weekend. My mom always said she loved it when all her chickens were around and I know exactly what she meant, it’s so special to have all the kids on holiday together for a few days. We went to Tokara, a restaurant on a vineyard on the Hels Hoogte drive, with a stunning view, for a wonderful dinner. Back in Stellenbosch the girls went out jolling.
